I use various approaches to learning so I can meet the needs of each student. This includes music technology because it enhances and accelerates the progress of children and adult learners significantly.
Technology tools make the learning experience more engaging and fun. These may range from online videos to music iPad apps and computer software. Music technology doesn't replace a music teacher but it can engage the learner and help them use their practice time wisely. Here are the apps I use in my studio and with online students. Each are suitable for children, teens, and adult learners.
Don't have a computer or iPad? No worries. We can still take advantage of music technology benefits in your lessons.
Automatic practice tracking: Tracks your time spent, pieces covered, etc.
Musical feedback: Always know how you're doing whether you're in the lesson or at home practicing.
Because of the immersive nature of having technology help you, learning is frequently 4-8 times faster than with books alone.
"As a piano teacher myself, I was anxious to find a teacher that would make learning music an enjoyable experience for my children. I am totally and completely happy with my children's lessons with Terry. He is patient and encouraging. He draws from a variety of resources to provide music that teaches, challenges, and is pleasant to play (and listen to). I highly recommend him!" - Anna H.
